Key Lime Smoothie
This key lime smoothie is refreshing, light, and tart. This is the perfect smoothie when you’re craving a slice of key lime pie, but want something lighter!
I noticed the other day I haven’t posted any smoothie or drink recipes yet. I mean it’s summer, after all, there are smoothie recipes galore (which for the record I am totally loving). I love whipping up smoothies with frozen bananas, greek yogurt, almond milk, and fruit. They’re always super creamy and delicious, plus they’re healthy! Summertime is the one time of year where I feel like I can live off of fruit, anyone else? I always get a little sad when fall and winter get here, but then my pumpkin obsession comes back full force and all is right with the world.
I love tart desserts with lemon or lime and I’m sure I’m not alone. If you love key lime pie, then this smoothie is perfect for you! I’ve been eating the Chobani key lime yogurt like it’s my job lately. Have you tried it?! If not, I suggest you get your hands on some. I love topping it with my healthy homemade granola or crumbling up a graham cracker on top. It’s so delicious and makes me feel like I’m indulging a little when I’m really not at all.
Speaking of feeling like I’m indulging, I feel that way with this smoothie too. It’s so creamy, tart, and delicious! Topping it with loads of whip cream and graham cracker crumbs is totally optional, but highly suggested. I love my smoothie a little more tart, so you can feel free to scale back a little on the lime juice if you like. The best part is that this smoothie is healthy enough for breakfast, plus it packs a nice little protein punch from the yogurt! I think I know what I’ll be having for breakfast every day until the end of summer!

Notes
This smoothie looks amazing! Key lime pie is one of my favourite summer desserts, so combined into a smoothie is an amazing recipe idea!
Mine too! Thanks Jess 🙂
I added pineapple, spinach, and Aloha banana protein powder. Really good!
The smoothie looks and sounds absolutely delicious.. Perfect alternative to the key lime pie.. 🙂
This smoothie looks delicious, Danielle! I love the lime flavor, so refreshing for the summer! And with the whipped cream and graham crackers on top…yum! And I’m totally obsessed with ANYTHING pumpkin flavor…can’t wait till fall for that, not that I’m rushing summer though! 🙂
Same here Gayle! Summer can definitely take it’s time!
Ohh I LOVE key lime-anything and these smoothies look perfect! So so smooth and creamy and perfect for these hot summer afternoons! I don’t think I could share these smoothies with anyone. 😉 Yum!
Ahhh OMG! This looks like dessert! What a gorgeous recipe. I am in love with lime at the moment, they seem to go hand-in-hand with summer. And I will never turn down a smoothie 🙂
Ooh I love key lime flavored things (actually more than key lime pie itself) and I’ve been getting more and more into smoothies recently, so this is perfect!
YUM! I love that chobani key lime yogurt, It totally makes the best smoothies. Love this one!
This tart smoothie is definitely a great way to wakeup in the morning! What a great flavour profile for breakfast, would never have thought to put key lime pie in a smoothie, so clever!
Thanks Louisa! The lime in this smoothie is really delicious.
Oh, this looks amazing! I love a good smoothie and this is one I haven’t tried. Pinning
Thanks Cindy! Thanks for the pin 🙂
Makes me crave key lime pie…but this would be so much simpler to make, and probably healthier! 🙂 Thanks for sharing!
I could live off fruit in the summertime too! Summer is so hot here in Arizona, that as much as I enjoy summertime food and activities, I really look forward to the fall to get here! This smoothie sounds so good, like a dessert smoothie! I’ve never thought to do that before, but now I want one!
This is so perfect for summer! I crave a big slice of key lime pie from time to time but I (usually) don’t indulge due to the sugar & calories. I’d definitely say a big ‘YES’ to this smoothie though – love that it’s healthy!
Thanks so much Mary Frances! Thanks for the pin too 🙂
Wheat germ makes an excellent topping instead of gcrushed raham crackers. Makes it very pie tasting.
