New York, USA – Today UNITAR unveiled a road safety mural donated to New York City. The artwork, curated by Street Art for Mankind (SAM) and created by street artist Dragon76, supports the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021-2030), conveys road safety messages and considers a future in which roads are safer places for drivers. and pedestrians. The mural was made possible thanks to the support of the AB InBev Foundation and AB InBev. The wall was donated by the Chhabra family and production was facilitated by the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority (TBTA) and the New York City Mayor’s Office.

The 5,200 square foot mural aims to raise awareness of the importance of road safety by depicting a future in which roads are safer places for drivers and pedestrians. Located steps away from the United Nations Headquarters in New York, at the corner of Tunnel Exit Street and 39th Street in Midtown New York. “Road Safety” is a mural that depicts a future in which roads are safer places for drivers and pedestrians. The mural hopes to create a positive norm and promote choices where safe driving is cool. The mural comes to life in augmented reality with the free “Behind the Wall” mobile app that will raise awareness of road safety and empower all viewers to take action.

This special event was preceded by the renewal of the partnership between UNITAR and AB InBev to continue improving road safety. The two institutions also agreed to develop initiatives focusing on women’s empowerment and entrepreneurship; and promote sustainable water management practices.
