TIGER trailers officially launched the school program “STOP LOOK BE SEEN” of its new unit Tiger Safety Team and unveiled the livery curtain, Volvo truck and mascot of the project during Road Safety Week 2021, organized by the organization Brake charity, which the Cheshire company has entered into a three-year donor relationship with.
The launch of the Tiger Safety Team’s School Road Safety Program brought together local dignitaries, children and staff from a nearby school, as well as representatives from Volvo Trucks dealer Thomas Hardie Commercials who provide the cabins. Guests also included delegates from the Cheshire Community Foundation, another charity supported by Tiger Trailers, and Brake’s own mascot, Zak the Zebra.
The ‘STOP LOOK BE SEEN’ program will provide road safety messages to stage 2 children at participating schools in the company’s home county of Cheshire, with a focus on raising awareness of safe behaviors. near larger vehicles, which is especially important in the age group 10-12 who will often be making unaccompanied trips for the first time when they start high school.
Six children are seriously injured or killed on UK roads every day, with the under 12s being the most vulnerable, and heavy goods vehicles pose a danger of up to 5 meters high and 18 meters long. Awareness of other large, inherently dangerous vehicles, from garbage trucks and buses to tractors, will also be encouraged.
Team tours are completely free, will include both in-class and outside segments, and will cover hazard recognition, behavior change techniques, national program outcomes, health, wellness. be and relationships PHSE and the green cross code.
About 40 children and staff from St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School in Winsford attended a safety demonstration presented by Tiger’s own driver, teaching them heavy truck blind spots, noise, turning circles and other dangers, and a number of children were given the opportunity to sit in the cabin.

The founder of Tiger Safety Team is Alison Cartwright, who manages the company’s broader CSR activities and has been surrounded by trucks and semi-trailers for much of her life, being the daughter of the late and well-respected Alan Cartwright. and the sister of Tiger CEO Steven. and Jean.
