The City of San Marcos does not maintain a list of construction projects for the media or the public. Therefore, some of the construction projects listed below may have been completed and are still listed. Once the city updates its website, we will update the list below.

Short and long term road construction projects that may affect your driving… Please exercise caution, drive slowly and watch for heavy equipment, construction workers and traffic control flaggers.

EAST SAN ANTONIO STREET — FARMERS’ MARKET | 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

EVERY SATURDAY — Half a block from the closed street of the alley at N. LBJ for the farmers market in the plaza. Main Street Program 512.393.8430.

• CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN PROGRESS •

HOPKINS STREET | MAY 2020 — SPRING 2022

Hopkins Street between Bishop Street and Moore Street will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic as part of a street reconstruction project. Traffic will be diverted to Craddock at both ends of the project, with only local traffic permitted. Phase 4 is underway with local traffic closures from Blanco to Moore Street. UHLAND ROAD | DECEMBER 2021 — MARCH 2022

Blocks 1300 and 1400 of Uhland Road will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic for a road reconstruction project. For more information, call Todd Keltgen at 512.212.7990.

GUADALUPE STREET IMPROVEMENTS | RUNNING

Sidewalk closed from Guadalupe Street to Martin Luther King Drive to the crossing for reconstruction. Also, one lane closure at Hopkins Street at Guadalupe Street. Completion is expected by late summer 2021. For more information, call New Age General Contractors, Inc. at 830.560.9077.

DRIVE SESSOMS WEST | AUGUST 2021 – AUGUST 2023

West Sessom Drive from LBJ Drive to Canyon Road will have single lane closures for Boring Operations – Diego Ratchford – 512.250.8310.

FELTNER AVENUE | 31 JANUARY – 1 APRIL 2022 | 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Feltner Avenue between Martin Luther King and West San Antonio will be closed for Utility Construction – Jacob Snyder 737.222.1789.

CASTLE FOREST DISTRICT | MARCH 14 — MARCH 25 | 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Utilities will be repairing streets in the Castle Forest area from March 14-25, 2021, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. One-way traffic will remain open throughout the project as the lanes are closed for repairs. Please watch for heavy equipment and fresh oil on the street.

SAN ANTONIO WEST | FEBRUARY 23 — MARCH 15 | 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

West San Antonio at Feltner Alley will be reduced to one lane from February 23 to March 15, 2022, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for construction Cedar Hills Construction – Jacob Snyder – 737.222.1789.

CRADDOCK AVENUE | MARCH 14 — MARCH 31

The project will include Craddock Avenue from Bishop Street to Old Ranch Road 12. Craddock Avenue mill and overlay will take place March 14-18 and Craddock Avenue restriping with buffered bike lanes from March 19 March to March 31. San Marcos Public Works – 512-393-8036.

STAPLES ROAD | MARCH 13 — MARCH 18 | 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m.

The Texas Department of Transportation will close Staples Road (FM 621) about a quarter mile south of Hilltop Drive for utility maintenance – Texas Department of Transportation – 512.832.7060.

IH-35 FACADE ROAD | SEPTEMBER 2021 – JANUARY 2022

MILESTONE 1 | SEPTEMBER 2021 – DECEMBER 2021
The southbound frontage road from Rio Vista Street to CM Allen Parkway will be reduced to a single lane for a Texas Department of Transportation road reconstruction project – Mike Harlin – TXDOT Construction Project Manager – 512.487.9501.

MILESTONE 2 | FROM JANUARY 5, 2022
