Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of Osun State yesterday described the newly reconstructed 13.15 km Ada-Igbajo road as the fulfillment of another campaign promise.

He had said in his inaugural address that his administration recognized the importance of intra- and inter-city roads in facilitating the movement of goods and people and would continue to mobilize resources to build strategic roads across the state.

The Ada-Igbajo road was among 54.3 km of township roads crossing the state’s three senatorial districts that Oyetola approved for construction, reconstruction or rehabilitation, after approximately three decades of their last reconstruction or construction real.

Other roads in the township include: Akindeko-Awosuru Link Road, via Adejumo Street, with a branch to Oremeji, Akinlade Street, Adewale Street, with a loop to WAEC Road; Full rehabilitation/surfacing of 25.8 km of Army Barrack (Ede)-Ara-Ejigbo township road; Rehabilitation and complete recovery of 8.10 km of the Moro-Yakoyo-Ipetumodu-Asipa-Ife/Ibadan Expressway Junction road; and Complete Rehabilitation/Overlay of 4.38 km of Ereja-Ereguru-Isaare-Oke Oye-Sabo (Irojo)-Ilesa/Akure Expressway Junction Roundabout.

Speaking at the commissioning, Oyetola reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to unleashing road construction on the state for its socio-economic transformation.

He said his administration is irrevocably committed to engaging in meaningful infrastructure and economic efforts to achieve economic transformation and equitable development of key cities and towns in Osun.
