Construction of Hoh Road will wrap up for the winter

Construction activities

and future work

Last week, Interwest Construction, Inc. (ICI) installed the guardrail and removed temporary traffic control signals at the Canyon Creek Bridge at MP 10. All that remains at this site is the installation of the final permanent signage and delineators, which will occur this week.

Also this week, ICI will begin planting the willow and poplar pole plantings at the engineered log dams (ELJ) constructed this year at MP 4.5 and MP 7.8. Once this is complete, ICI will ensure that all sites are prepared for winter closure and work will resume in spring 2022.

Traffic impacts

• The following work areas can be expected on Upper Hoh Road:

MP 4.5: Temporary traffic control flaggers will be in place next week for planting work at ELJs.

MP 10: Temporary traffic lights have been removed, and the road is open to traffic in both directions. Expect minor impacts during panel installation next week.

• Travelers should expect minor or no delays at these locations

• Olympic National Park and businesses along Upper Hoh Road will remain accessible at all times during construction.
