MINSK, June 10 (BelTA) — Belarus and Rostov Oblast plan to implement joint road construction projects in the Russian region. This issue was discussed at the working meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus Aleksei Lyakhnovich and the Deputy Governor of Rostov Oblast – Minister of Transport Vladimir Okunev, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Transport and Communications.

“The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to cooperation in the transport sector. They reached a preliminary agreement to build bridges and other infrastructure with the participation of Belarusian road enterprises in Rostov Oblast,” the press service informed.

The Belarusian side described another promising area of ​​cooperation: Belarusian road construction and design organizations are ready to offer their services in the creation of airport infrastructure. Among the projects they have carried out are the runway of Minsk National Airport and Orsha Airport. They are currently working on the construction of a track in Leningrad Oblast.

The meeting was attended by representatives of road construction enterprises of Belarus – Belavtodor, Beldornii and Belgiprodor.

Air communication was also discussed in detail during the meeting. The same was true for the supply of Belarusian cargo and passenger equipment to the Russian region. Rostov Oblast is also interested in purchasing electric transport.

During the business trip to Belarus, the Rostov Oblast delegation inspected the construction site of the southwestern bypass of Mogilev, one of the country’s flagship road construction projects.
