Her husband was put on life support
Another victim of the Dilu road construction fire, Jannatul Ferdous, 40, died at the National Institute of Plastic Surgery and Sheikh Hasina burns.
She died around 9:35 am Sunday.
Hospital Resident Physician (RMO) Partha Sarker Pal confirmed the case.
Her husband AKM Shahidul Kirmany Rony, 40, was placed on life support.
The couple’s only child, five-year-old Rushdi, died on the spot. He was later identified by his grandfather AKM Shahidullah as rescuers struggled to identify the victim as he was burned to the point of being unrecognizable.
Meanwhile, Shahidul suffered 43 percent burns, while his wife Jannatul suffered 95 percent burns to her body in the fatal blaze.
At least three people, including Rushdi, have died after a fire broke out in a five-story building in the Dilu Road neighborhood of Dhaka in Eskaton around 4 a.m. Thursday, as residents of the building slept .
Nine other people were also injured in the incident. Of these, two suffered severe burns, four had respiratory complications from the smoke, and the rest were injured while trying to escape the blaze.
A probe body formed by firefighters and civil defense, after a first investigation suspects that the fire had its origin in the garage. However, the precise cause of the fire and where it started has not yet been confirmed.
