I have been a huge boxing fan since I have been a child. Whittling thousands of Heavyweight boxers down to the 5 top Heavyweights of all time is not a easy task. My top 5 Heavyweight boxers of all time are debatable, but I would match them up against any Heavyweight boxer who is not on this list.
- Muhammad Ali-(born Cassius Marcellus Clay, Jr.; January 17, 1942) Ali was a three-time World Heavyweight Champion. He won a gold medal in the light heavyweight divison at the 1960 Summer Olympics. Ali’s boxing record was 56 Wins (37 knockouts, 19 decisions), 5 Losses (4 decisions, 1 TKO), 0 Draws. In 1999, Ali was crowned “Sportsman of the Century” by Sports Illustrated.

- Joe Louis-Known as The Brown Bomber, Joe was the world heavyweight boxing champion from 1937 to 1949. He is considered to be one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. Joe Louis’s championship reign lasted 140 consecutive months, during which he participated in 27 championship fights including 5 world championships. Joe Louis boxing record was 65 Wins (51 knockouts, 13 decisions, 1 disqualification), 3 Losses (2 knockouts, 1 decision).

- Jack Johnson-(March 31, 1878 – June 10, 1946), nicknamed the “Galveston Giant”, was the first African American world heavyweight boxing champion (1908–1915). He made twenty successful title defenses, second only to Joe Louis’ twenty-five. Larry Holmes won his first forty-eight professional bouts.
